Biography of Shannyn Sossamon

Shannyn Sossamon is a famous multi-faceted personality in America. She is an excellent actress, a dancer and a renowned musician. She won 'Young Hollywood Award' in 2002 for her Breakthrough Performance - Female. The tattoo culture has caught the fascination of this famous actress too. She has the "S" backward on her left shoulder and three more including an S with a flower on her right back shoulder.

Shannyn Sossamon was born on October 3, 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii and grew up in Reno, Nevada, United States. Her mother is Sherry Sossamon and father, Todd Lindberg. She was born Shannon Marie Kahoolani Sossamon but is simply known as Shannyn Sossamon. The 'o' in Shannon was replaced with 'y' in the year 1995.

Shannyn Sossamon studied at Galena High School, in Nevada. Soon after her high school graduation Shannyn moved to Los Angeles in pursuit of her dance career. Before stepping into the world of movies she did DJ gigs in local clubs and became a familiar face among local clubs. It was while assisting a DJ friend at Gwyneth Paltrow's birthday party she was spotted by a casting director Francine Maisler. Thus her film career began.
